Well. I must admit I"m not much of an avid reader. But I can say I love reading to my kids each day. We attend storytime every week and then choose a plethora of books and 4 dvds to take home and devour before having to return them the following week. I love childrens books and I often find myself searching for the best illustrated books. I came across this book and I love the author and illustrator. I found more of her books and I love them just the same.
This book is so darn cute and the illustrations are awesome!

Lore,
How funny that you posted about this book!!! We went to the library last week and picked this very book up. It's one Sydney wants to read over and over. :)
I LOVE children's literature! The book you blogged about is one of my favorite children's books that I would like to own for my personal library.
Here is a list of my top 20 favorite:
* Boss Baby by Marla Frazee
(New book (2010) Sooooo funny! Especially since you have had 2 babies and are about to have another one. I'm sure you can relate to this book. Sterling and Kendra love this book and will sometimes refer to Sailor as the "Boss Baby")
*Monkey with the Tool Belt and the Noisy Problem by Chris Monroe.
(I love the illustrations of the monkey - such a funny, cleaver, smart monkey with his tools)
*Shark vs. Train by Chris Barton
(A creative book about how little boys play/think.)
*Birds by Kevin Henkes
(I love the beautiful, colorful illustrations)
*The Lion and the Mouse by Jerry Pinkey
(There are no words but the illustrations are gorgeous! Frameworthy! Art! It actually won the Caldecott award)
*A Penguin Story by Antoinette Portis
(I love penguins)
*Olivia by Ian Falconer
*Click, Clack, Moo: Cows that Type by Doreen Cronin
*Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans
(You would appreciate this book since you have been to France)
*Flotsam by David Wiesner
(He has written/illustrated a lot of creative books that I bet you and your kids would love)
*If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff
(This book is a classic must for all kids to read. You'll probably want milk and cookies after you read it)
*The Polar Express by Chris VanAllsburg
(I like the book better than the movie)
*The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
*Heckedy Peg by Audrey Wood
*Pat the Bunny by Dorothy Kunhart
*The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
*Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems
*The Empty Pot by Demi
(Amazing story/picture with a good moral. You could read this story in church for a lesson)
*Rain by Peter Spier
(I loved looking at the pictures of his books as a kid)
*My Big Little Golden Book about God by Jane Werner Watson
(I love her art work)
and a bonus book:
*The Boy Who Was Raised by Librarians
(written by my mom Carla Morris ;)
So many good children's books out there. Let me know if you were able to find these titles at your library and how your kids liked the books :)
I have never heard of that author, I will have to check him out.
The boys favorite book would be were the wild things are. But my very favorite of all time is Jabberwocky by Lewis Carrol but it has to be the one with images by the Disney Archives. LOVE!
You are such a good mama to read to your kidos as much as I know you do!
