FINALLY, some pics from good old AZ! We are settled and exploring all that Mesa has to offer(which is quite a lot, its a very big city) We are loving the daily sunshine and all the palm trees and cactuses. Dustin is fully immersed in school and is really loving it! Life is great as we are getting to know the area! (I thought the song by Johnny Cash, "Burning Ring of Fire" was appropriate for this post as that is a bit how we felt when we first moved here : )
A few random facts about AZ:
1. Just the city of Mesa alone has 1/2 million people!
2. Never forget to put flip flops on when walking outside, the cement is REALLY HOT!
3. The sun sets really fast but they are the most beautiful i've ever seen!
4. Its a really good idea to have tinted windows here, it significantly cuts down on the heat!
5. No one is outside during the summer months
6.When you turn on the cold water it is never cold, always luke warm(this one totally makes me laugh)
7. A spray bottle is a must for beating the heat!
8. You have to drink water constantly just to stay somewhat hydrated! Water bottles(and sunblock) are the priority next to the car keys and wallet when leaving the house!
9. When checking out at the grocery store they always ask if you need ice along with stamps!
10. They don't require you to have a license plate on the front of your car only on the back and your drivers license last till your 65 here....totally random huh?
11. The water here has a faint taste of dirt and rust! No worries, if you put ice in it and make it cold you can barely tell! (I know I"ll come up with some more as time goes on, keep ya posted)
We are loving a complete change
(though I have to be honest, I have been a bit homesick at times)
but all in all life is great!

(Notice the tented roof over top of the play equipment! Such a nice feature as it is so needed in the heat)!
Whenever Macie is not in sight, we always know where to look! She is standing up on everything these days and crawling everywhere! It is so darn cute!

Looks like you are having a great time! It's always nice to love it when you move to a new area. Tyra is going to be moving to Arizona in January. I can't remember what part though. And that is so great you have a pool so close! I am jealous! Your family is adorable, and Macie looks alot like you. Such a pretty girl!

I thought you'd love it there! Looks like you are desert rats by nature. ;-) You're right, the sunsets are breath taking and that's so funny that they ask you if you want to buy ice at the grocery store!! What a fun tid bit.
I was thinking, the people there are ingenious for putting canopies over the playground equipment to keep the sun off the kids.
Makes me wonder if we should get some in Ellensburg, only for the WIND. We could build big windbreaks at Kiwanis so the little ones aren't blown away!! ;-)
Yeah, I was so glad to see that you posted. We've been thinking about you guys. The people at the PT clinic have been asking how you guys are. I love the pictures, you have adorable kids. I can't believe that Maci is crawling. It looks like you guys are enjoying AZ, and I'm glad that Dustin likes school. Keep the updates coming and continue to live it up in Arizona. We miss you guys!!
I am so glad that you are finding AZ to your liking. I read your facts about where you live and it reminds me of Vegas. Similar weather. We used to joke that you know when your in Vegas when you brand yourself on the seat belts. Miss You. look forward to hearing more.
Hey Lore! I found your blog through Elisa's...We are moving to the Phoenix valley also! We are aiming for Gilbert, which is really close to mesa I believe. It is so fun to see from your pix what it is like there, since I've never been :) You have such a beautiful family :)
